We would like to take the time to wish each and every one of your a very happy holiday season.
This time of year is supposed to be a time full of joy and happiness. A time to gather with the people you care about and have fun.
This time of year is especially hard for many people. They may hide it behind a fake smile. They may just not celebrate or isolate themselves. They may appear as if nothing is wrong, but inside they are fighting a battle with their own mind.
I have always had problems during this time of year. I never really knew why, but it was a time that was very hard. But, now this is the 3 holiday seasons that my family has an empty seat that was filled by a young woman with so much potential and love. This is also the season of her birthday.
Small actions can make a huge difference. Things that you may think are not important could make all the difference and save a life. A few minutes to call someone. A simple text conversation. A visit for coffee. A smile to a stranger.
We wish you all a very happy holiday and also ask that you take a minute to check on people that may be suffering. Mental illness is a silent disease many times, you won’t even know a person is suffering. The battle in their mind may lead them to drink or take other substances to feel numb. To mask the feelings that are ripping them apart.
What can you do to help? How will you help others?
